B.S. in Technical Education: Early Instructor Option
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Education, Early Instructor Program prepares students for careers in education, healthcare, government, business, industry, military, and non-profit sectors. The program combines theory with hands-on experience to equip students for jobs in the field of education of young children.

Samford University
B.S in Human Development and Family Science
The Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) major prepares students for family-centered careers and provides an excellent foundation for graduate study in a number of areas.
Child Development Education Concentration
Prepares students for work in early childhood settings as teachers and/or administrators. This concentration is a collaboration between the Department of Human Development and Family Science and the Department of Teacher Education.
Child Life Concentration
Prepares students to work in a medical setting to provide emotional support and coping strategies for children and their families facing short- and long-term hospital stays. Upon completion, students submit their coursework for review to the Child Life Council and must pass an exam to become certified child life specialists.
Gerontology Concentration
Prepares students to provide services and research for those in the later stages of life. Special emphasis is placed upon how aging affects the individual as well as the family.
Auburn University
B.S in Early Childhood Development
The Early Child Development prepares students to work directly with or for the benefit of children age 6 and younger. Students interested in this area of study will gain knowledge of early childhood development, professional child care, and educational programs for young children as well as skills for working with children who are in the preschool years. Specifically, students will learn how to understand, guide and teach young children, and they will gain experience to prepare for careers in early childhood settings, such as childcare centers, preschools, or Head Start classrooms, administration of early childhood programs, daycare licensing, training and consulting. Daycare‐based internships must be in programs that are accredited or in the process of accreditation through NAEYC, NAC, NECPA or similar organizations.
The B.S. Human Development and Family Science Early Child Development program at Auburn University is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The current accreditation term runs from July 2021-July 2028.
